Frequently asked
questions
What do you do at DoiT?
- - Run security assessments
- - Triage security incident investigations
- - Architect network and DNS designs
- - Troubleshoot permissions issues
- - Test out new features and services
Overall, though, I'm here because I like working with people and I like solving problems. If you're a person with a problem (who isn't?), maybe I can help.
I want to improve my security in AWS. Where do I start?
Want to learn more? We do security assessments all the time for DoiT customers, and I'd be happy to help you out. We also can automatically generate security insights for you!
I'm used to AWS (or GCP) and I'm trying to learn GCP (or AWS). What are some big differences?
- - AWS IAM roles are similar to Google Cloud's Service accounts. Google's service accounts and AWS IAM role can both be assigned to resources to give them permissions.
- - Google IAM roles are sets of permissions, similar to AWS IAM policies
- - If you need external access to AWS from a service, traditionally you created an IAM user with an access key. Google allows you to create keys for service accounts. These days, IAM Roles Anywhere are recommended, instead of IAM users, to allow external service access to AWS.
I might add a non-network/security answer here eventually. Keep an eye out!
What is a JA4 fingerprint?
Terraform? CloudFormation? Something else?
Disagree? That's okay – different strokes for different folks
Do you like dogs?
I love dogs! (See the GIF FAQ below.) I also love cats. Most animals, really. Snakes and lizards are cool and I enjoy seeing them in the wild and in my yard. Goats seem like a lot of fun, but they need way more space than I have right now. But yeah, uh, dogs! Dogs are great.

What customers are saying
We asked for quota increases. Noam helped open tickets for us for our production accounts and push AWS for faster resolution. However,on AWS side, We've seen inconsistency in what should be a simple quota increase. Lack of clarity into the stage of the request, and requests that were submitted later were approved earlier. our first request took over a week for increase, and it was the most important one for our staging tests.
Today
Daniel was fantastic, but we find dealing with Looker's support team increasingly frustrating. Daniel did a great job navigating our issues with them.

A good group to support

Perfect feedback and my needs were suited !
Today
We value the in-depth investigation, however I the pace of investigation was not as fast as I would expect for something that is causing us recurring production incidents; In the meantime, we conducted our own investigation and based on telemetry data available to us and additional tests in lower environments, we were able to arrive at similar conclusions by the end of last week already. That said, quality of support is good, but DoIt / GCP support would be more valuable to us if the feedback loop was faster - then it could have sped up our investigation.

I have interacted with Brian on a couple of occasions now and he provides exceptional advice and guidance. He is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and is very helpful in explaining the options that are available, as well as giving solid suggestions to the direction(s) to consider.
Today
Great response, Isidoro outlined perfectly the available options and clarified some blind spots we had, ultimately we moved forward with a customized solution using lamda to replicate our records in a private hosted zone.
Today
David was super responsive and asked good questions, the issue solved in the meantime but I appreciate the quick answers.
Today
Very helpful - thanks
Today
Prasnath was proactive and very helpful for our urgent needs, and provided useful info and suggestions to followup. This query was not a production-imparing topic but a business one, and still we received prompt responsiveness for our support request which we very much appreciate. Thank you! Update - while to you message we got confirmation from AWS Marketplace suppoet team that they managed to update the Legal Business Name on the target seller account exactly as we needed. So case resolved. If I run into any Doit related issues regarding the APN registration I'll contact again, otherwise thanks again for the proactive help.

The support provided by the support technician was good and efficient. They were finally able to resolve my issue.
Today
Didn't provide clear information about their capabilities and what we should expect what turned a thing that could be solved in couple hours in multi day issue affecting our customers.
Today
Very quick and accurate, answering requirement perfectly
Today
As always - Doit is ready to do whatever it takes to support their customers.
Today
Nikhil was very helpful — his response was extensive and even answered questions we hadn't asked yet, but which would likely have come up later. This way we have everything covered in advance, which saves us a lot of back-and-forth.
Today
Support was extremly fast and made sure we understood why the configuration is the way it is or should be changed. thank you!
